Star Wars Zero Company's Missing Achievement Frustrates Fans

Have you ever finished a game, expecting a shiny achievement to pop up, only to be left hanging? That's exactly what happened to one Star Wars Zero Company player who managed to keep their entire squad alive—and got nothing to show for it.

Star Wars Zero Company launched late last month and quickly became one of the year's standout titles. Like the XCOM series that inspired it, the game features a permadeath mechanic. With the exception of main protagonist Hawks, any ally you bring into battle is gone for good if they fall. That means every skirmish carries real weight, and every loss stings.

Our frustrated player somehow made it through the entire campaign without losing a single squad member—well, except for the unlucky soul who automatically dies in the opening segment. They even restarted a mission early on after accidentally knocking someone off the map during the tutorial. But when the credits rolled, they waited for that achievement to pop on Xbox. And waited. Nothing.

Turns out, there's no achievement for completing the game without losing a squad member. There are achievements for everything from making an almost-impossible shot to changing cosmetic items. There's even one for having a squad member die on your watch—which, on PlayStation, is basically a participation trophy. But flawless squad preservation? Not recognized.

Now, the player admits they're not a big achievement hunter, and this isn't a huge deal in the grand scheme. They're far more interested in making sure developer Bit Reactor gets paid so it can keep making amazing turn-based tactics games like Zero Company. Still, the omission stings. If a sequel ever happens, they have one simple request: give us our reward.

It's a relatable gripe. Achievements are supposed to celebrate your accomplishments, and keeping everyone alive in a permadeath game is no small feat. Whether you're a completionist or just someone who loves a good challenge, that missing trophy feels like a missed opportunity.

What do you think? Should Star Wars Zero Company add an achievement for a no-loss run, or is the current list just fine? Will you be picking this up?
