What if you could snag GTA 6's $100 Ultimate Edition for just $80? Well, you might be able to, thanks to a new Costco deal.
Costco has rolled out a promotion where you can get four $25 PlayStation Store gift cards for $80. Alternatively, you can buy two $75 gift cards for $120. These offers are valid through October 11 or while supplies last, so you'll need to act quickly.
However, there's a catch: while Costco doesn't require a membership ($65/year) to shop online, these specific gift card deals are listed as "members only." So if you're not a member, you might need to sign up to take advantage.
Now, about the game itself: GTA 6's $80 edition will be sold in stores via a code in a box, but the $100 edition will seemingly not be sold in stores. This makes the $100 edition even more profitable for Rockstar and Take-Two because digital games have better margins than physical ones.
The $100 Ultimate Edition comes with a bunch of digital extras, including special weapon variants, a retro-inspired car, a boat, and special clothing. Plus, it's the only way to access a range of in-game stores and locations, such as Rideout Customs for car upgrades, Sara's Unisex Salon for haircuts, and Electric Fang Tattoo for ink. These perks are exclusive to those who pay $100.
It's still unclear what will happen for those who buy the $80 edition regarding these shops. Will the doors be locked? Will there be a literal paywall? Or will they not even appear in the world? Rockstar and Take-Two are well-versed in microtransactions, and the game's ESRB rating confirms they'll be in the game, but we don't know yet how it will work in practice.
GTA 6 becomes available to preload starting November 12, and that applies to both digital and physical versions sold at retailers. The game unlocks to play on November 19 across PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Will you be picking up the Ultimate Edition with this Costco deal, or are you holding out for more details? Let us know in the comments!
