Steam October Next Fest kicked off on the 20th, and if you're into adult games, Taiwanese publisher Mango Party just gave you a whole lot to click on. They've released playable demos for eight titles launching this year, and a few of these are from series you probably already know.
Leading the pack is Monster Princess: Assembly! Super Super Super Survival Strategy, a roguelike action survival game co-developed by Fat Parrot Studio and O.U.E.N. Apes. It's set in the same world as the Monster Princess series and stars the Sloth, Pride, and Gluttony princesses, who meet up in a consciousness space for a tea party to swap stories about their Earth partners. Naturally, everyone thinks their own partner is the best, and just as the argument is about to ruin the party, the space gets sealed off. Enemies pour in, old rivals show up, and the girls have to fight their way back to their partners. The game will launch as an all-ages title with a free R18 DLC available at release.
Fox House, the team behind Fox Spirit's Love Lessons and Fox Spirit's Late Night Stream, is back with the third entry in its fox girl series: The Thing About Being Kept by a Fox Girl Gal. This one's an adult romance-raising sim with Live2D interaction. You play as a fox girl's assistant living under the same roof and taking care of her daily life. The setup? Your protagonist gets crushed by a black company, gets framed into debt, and is about to be grabbed by gangsters and sold overseas when a mysterious gal suddenly shows up, pays off everything, and saves you. Gameplay is time management plus interactive raising: mornings you're a housework hero for this hopeless fox girl, afternoons trigger date events, and nights are for sharing secrets and life together.
Then there's Office Peeping from the Colorful Shiba Inu Game Studio team. The setting is the office environment we all know, except your character joins a famous but mysterious big company called Manmi and discovers they've been given a secret job nobody talks about. You'll talk to coworkers, hunt for keywords hidden between the lines, and dig up more secrets. By collecting info on strange people and incidents, you keep peeking into private lives and climbing the ladder for more power, gradually bringing the heroines under your control.
If you like your adult RPGs on the darker side, I'm moralist's Doudo Eika no Reiyuuden is here too. The studio built a following with titles like the Inshuu no Kakuriyo Village games, and this one is a humiliation-focused gentleman's RPG. In the fictional city of Chesterwood, constantly attacked by cultists, criminals, and otherworldly creatures, He & Rose's top hero Doudo Eika fights day after day at a pace that's practically death by overwork. She keeps the peace through blood and sweat, boosted by forbidden aphrodisiacs, while the hero management organization bares its fangs and citizens complain she's late. As missions pile up and the drugs stack, her mind and body erode, and your choices decide whether she stays a hero or falls.
The lineup continues with three more demos. Sanhu Huangshi's gentleman sim Down Beach: Legend of the Gambling Saint DX casts you as a new-generation gambling saint challenging the gambling demon Chienchinjo's floating casino and her three beautiful executives: bunny girl Su Qiyun, qipao instrument master Li Daiqiong, and landmine-style girl gambler Mo You. Akari blast!'s Beluna and Rip's Futanari Adventure SS is an adult futanari yuri action adventure where two treasure hunters gain demon transformation powers and end up with some very impressive new equipment. And for something lighter, Leia's Trading Honey Business is a light puzzle and quick-quiz game about a girl disguised as a man trading to pay off debt while suppressing her desires. Rounding out the eight is Sprite Watch, a flashy ARPG set in the same world as The Last Monarch with three switchable classes, where you fight the undead to protect the elves' future and avenge fallen kin.
Eight demos, one festival, and plenty of variety across genres. Which one are you trying first?
