Ever seen a video game ad so big it needs a helicopter? That's exactly what's happening in Miami right now. Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive are transforming the Kaseya Center into a giant billboard for Grand Theft Auto 6, airlifting massive letters into place to spell out "Welcome to Vice City." And yes, a chopper is doing the heavy lifting.
Onlookers have been capturing the spectacle, sharing clips of the aerial installation across social media. It's a bold, over-the-top stunt that fits the game's larger-than-life vibe—and it's only the beginning of what's shaping up to be a massive marketing blitz ahead of the November release.
The campaign comes with a hefty price tag: reportedly almost $1 million for Miami-Dade County. But there's a catch—the funds are earmarked to develop a plot of land behind the stadium for community use. Not everyone is thrilled about that arrangement. The county Sheriff's Office has criticized the deal, with Commissioner Bermudez proposing the money instead go toward filling gaps in the law division's budget. Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz also voiced concerns, criticizing GTA 6 for glorifying crime and violence against police officers.
Ironically, Rockstar seems to be addressing those very concerns in-game. The new Wanted and Honor systems will make cops smarter and more persistent than ever, meaning getting away with literal murder will be a lot harder. So while you can still cause chaos, the consequences are real.
In other GTA 6 news, Rockstar has officially announced Grand Theft Auto 6: The Album—a 34-song collection featuring original music from artists like Keith Richards, Yung Lean, and Morgan Wallen, plus several licensed tracks. Unlike the game, a physical edition is up for preorder and drops on November 19, the same day as GTA 6.
And if that's not enough, we recently learned that Milton from Office Space is in the game, the limited-edition GTA 6 DualSense controllers are flying off shelves, and plenty of people are already planning to take time off work for launch. The hype is real, and Miami is feeling it.
What do you think of Rockstar's massive marketing push? Will you be picking up the album or the game come November? Let us know in the comments!
