Charlie Cox Confirms Secret Sega Game Role at NYCC 2026

Did you know Charlie Cox is secretly voicing a character in an unannounced Sega game? The Daredevil star dropped the news at New York Comic-Con 2026, and it's already got fans buzzing.

While chatting with IGN's Jeffrey Vega, Cox confirmed he's completed recording for the mysterious project. "I did another one! It doesn't have a name yet," he said. "I did a Sega one. I've done one since. It hasn't come out yet. It was fun to do. It's hard. It's a whole different job, man."

But the best part? Cox shared a hilarious anecdote about his first day. The crew apparently didn't realize he's English. "I showed up for it, and I met them for the first time, they asked me to do this game, and so I agreed to it. Then I had to do 40 hours or whatever it was, and I showed up for the first day, and I was like, 'Hi guys, nice to meet you! How are you?' And all of them went, '...oh, he's English.' They'd hoped, they'd wanted him to be American. But now I've got to do 40 hours of lines I've not prepared in an accent. Yeah, I think they thought I was American."

So what does this tell us? For starters, Cox will be playing an American character—or at least one with an American accent. And with 40 hours of lines recorded, his role is likely central to the game's plot. That's a lot of dialogue!

This isn't the first time Cox has teased a new game project. Earlier this year, he mentioned working on a new game but stayed tight-lipped on details. Now we know it's for Sega, but the title remains a mystery.

Cox has already proven his voice acting skills in Expedition 33, where he played Gustave. He famously recorded all his lines in just four hours, and players loved his performance. He even snagged a Best Performance nomination at The Game Awards 2025. So expectations are high for this Sega role.

Sega's upcoming lineup includes Stranger Than Heaven, Virtua Fighter Crossroads, Persona 6, and Alien: Isolation 2. Since this project doesn't even have a name yet, it's probably none of those. We'll just have to wait and see.

In the meantime, Daredevil fans can look forward to Daredevil: Born Again Season 3, set for early 2027. But it'll be the end of Matt Murdock's current adventures—at least for now. The news broke in late September alongside reports that showrunner Dario Scardapane exited during post-production. Vincent D'Onofrio, who plays Kingpin, penned a heartfelt goodbye on social media: "We have the final Season, season 3 heading your way next year with some very cool stuff. Much love to all who have been supportive. I love that character Fisk. Always will. Off to another neck off the woods. Meanwhile… Season 3 is coming!"
