Kyle Gallner Wants to Play V in Cyberpunk 2077 Movie

Ever dreamed of seeing Night City on the big screen? You're not alone. Paramount is developing a live-action Cyberpunk 2077 movie, and one actor is already throwing his name into the ring.

Kyle Gallner, known for his role in Smile 2, made it clear he wants to play V. Just hours after Paramount announced the project on October 8, Gallner posted a photo of himself with a close-shaved haircut—similar to V's look in the game's marketing—along with the caption: "Take me to night city." Talk about a direct application.

Fans are loving it. Many are already picturing Gallner alongside Keanu Reeves' Johnny Silverhand. Comments ranged from "Kyle and Keanu. Sounds outstanding" to "PERFECT casting" and "You and Keanu teaming up? I could be on board for that." Another fan simply wrote, "He's HIM! Paramount, please consider." The enthusiasm is real.

Cyberpunk 2077 has come a long way from its tabletop RPG origins. CD Projekt Red's video game, its expansion, and the acclaimed Edgerunners anime from Studio Trigger have built a massive following. Now Paramount is developing a live-action film, though plot details are still under wraps. Could we follow V's adventures with Johnny Silverhand? Or maybe Idris Elba's Solomon Reed before he meets V? Heck, maybe even Edgerunners 2's Weak Kingsley. The possibilities are endless, and that's what has fans excited.

CDPR co-CEO Michał Nowakowski shared his excitement on X: "We're excited about Paramount as a future partner who shares our creative ambitions for the Cyberpunk franchise. We look forward to sharing more details at the appropriate time." So more news is coming, but we'll have to wait.

In the meantime, fans can look forward to Edgerunners 2, set to air on Netflix on October 20, 2026. That should tide you over while we wait for more movie details.

What do you think? Would Kyle Gallner make a good V? Let us know in the comments!
