Silent Hill Townfall: Scales Puzzle Solution Guide

Ever found yourself staring at three scales in Silent Hill Townfall, wondering what goes where? You're not alone. This puzzle is one of the first big brain-teasers in the game, and it requires a bit of legwork. But don't worry, we've got you covered.

The scales puzzle is in the Z Ellis office in the Clinic, the same room where you get the clinic reception door code. You'll see three scales on boxes right in front of the door, and a note to the left. The note has three underlined phrases: "I didn't listen closely enough," "I made mistakes and couldn't focus on the task at hand," and "I'm not fit to work in this role any longer." The final line, "Please show me you understand," tells you to match each clue with an object.

When you first arrive, you'll only have Zoe's ID card, which you got from the organ box puzzle. That's the answer to "I'm not fit to work in this role any longer" and goes in the third scale. For the other two, you need to explore further. Check the computer in the same room and read the "Where are you" email to add Jess's flat to your map. Then, use the reception door code on the computer to access the answerphone, which adds the Pharmacy to your map. You can tackle these in any order.

At the Pharmacy, you'll need the scalpel to get in. Once inside, you'll find a locker code puzzle. The solution involves numbers from posters on the walls and using the TV signal to order them. Solving it gives you an incorrect prescription, which represents "I made mistakes." For Jess's flat, you'll need to use the scalpel to open the gate to St Amelia's Park. On the way, stop at number 16 to grab Jess's backdoor key from the table by the window in the upstairs flat. With the key, enter Jess's flat around the back. Inside, you'll find a broken stethoscope on the bed, which is for "I didn't listen." Also, don't forget to pick up the lock box key in the kitchen drawer and open the lock box in the ground floor flat at No 16 on your way back.

Now that you have all three items, return to the scales. Place the stethoscope in the scale for "I didn't listen closely enough," the incorrect prescription for "I made mistakes," and Zoe's ID for "I'm not fit to work in this role." Once you place the final item, a cutscene will play and you'll progress. You'll soon face more puzzles, like opening Jane's Shed and finding blood pressure, pulse, and O2 readings.
