Skyrim Mod Adds Elden Ring Combat, No AI Tricks

Ever wondered what it'd be like to face Skyrim's dragons with Elden Ring's brutal combat? Well, wonder no more. A modder has done just that, and it's not some AI-generated gimmick—it's the real deal.

The mod, which you can see in action on X, brings Elden Ring's player controller to Skyrim. According to the poster, it's "fully playable" and not a "passthrough or any fancy tricks." Instead, someone straight up remade Elden Ring's player movement and combat in Rust, a programming language, so it can be added to any game. That's right—no generative AI here, just good old-fashioned coding skills.

The project is the work of two key people: "Funny-Bones" on GitHub, who created the Elden Ring player movement and combat in Rust, and the modder who integrated it into Skyrim. The result is a seamless crossover that lets you play as the Dovahkiin with Tarnished-style combat. The video circulating social media shows exactly that, and it's impressive.

This stands out especially because of the current trend of AI-powered crossovers, where people try to generate games into other games. You might have seen posts claiming to run Minecraft inside Elden Ring—spoiler: that's AI slop and not playable. This Skyrim mod, however, should be fully playable once released.

The modder says he'll be uploading it "soon," though there's no exact date yet. Fans are already hyped, with comments like "Holy peak" and "insane" flooding the replies. It's easy to see why—who wouldn't want to die to a mere bandit a million times over in Skyrim?

So, if you're looking to spice up your Skyrim experience while waiting for The Elder Scrolls 6, this mod might be just what you need. Keep an eye out for its release, and in the meantime, check out our roundup of the best Skyrim mods to download for free.

What do you think? Will you be trying this mod when it drops?
