Build a Spooky LEGO Millennium Pumpkin Ahead of Halloween

With Halloween right around the corner, a fan has figured out a way to turn a brand-new spooky set into an awesome, glowing Star Wars spaceship: the Millennium Pumpkin.

If you follow custom LEGO creations, you probably know that turning everyday sets into Han Solo's famous ride is a beloved tradition. While LEGO has released a total of 12 official versions of the Millennium Falcon over the years, dedicated fan Brad Barber—known on Reddit as Minute_Food_2881—has taken things to another level entirely. Barber has personally designed 19 alternate Falcon builds so far. You might even remember him making headlines last year for his hilariously cursed Millennium Simba build.

For his latest trick, Barber took advantage of the new LEGO Halloween Pumpkin Lantern set, which launched this August. What makes this custom creation especially neat is that it is a pure alternate build. That means you can construct the entire Millennium Pumpkin using solely the parts included in the original box. You will not have to dig through your own plastic bins or order rare pieces online to finish it.

Even better, this spooky ship comes with working lights. The official Halloween Pumpkin Lantern kit comes packed with a light brick that is normally triggered by pressing down on the pumpkin stem. In Barber's alternate design, the light brick shines forward through the front of the craft. Even cooler, according to Barber, the light will also activate when you place the ship onto its display stand.

The Halloween Pumpkin Lantern (Set #40872) is currently a LEGO Exclusive available at the LEGO Store for $29.99. Because it lands just under the $30 mark, it is worth noting that it won't qualify on its own for any current gift-with-purchase promotions.
