Netflix Shadow-Drops New Conjuring Game, Out Next Week

Did you see this one coming? Netflix and Supermassive Games—the studio behind Until Dawn—just dropped a surprise announcement: a brand-new The Conjuring game, and it's out next week.

The Conjuring: Unspoken launches October 13 on Netflix. That means no console, no PC, no controller required—just your phone. It's described as an "interactive paranormal investigation" where you call the shots. You'll play as demonologist Francesca Noakes, exploring the fictional Red Lion Inn and searching for clues about "things that go bump in the night."

Your ghost-hunting toolkit includes an electromagnetic field reader, an infrared camera, and a spirit box. As you investigate, dialogue choices shape how the story unfolds, so every decision could lead you somewhere different. It's the kind of experience that puts you right in the middle of the scare.

Don't worry if you've never seen a Conjuring movie—Netflix says you don't need any prior knowledge to enjoy Unspoken. That said, longtime fans will get "a lot more from the experience." According to Netflix, "There are a few familiar faces that pop up in the game, and knowing the backstory adds to the overall impact." So if you're a veteran of the franchise, keep your eyes peeled.

The game was made in partnership with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. That partnership arrives at an interesting time: Warner Bros. Discovery, the parent company of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, was just acquired by Paramount/Skydance.

For now, the focus is on October 13. That's when The Conjuring: Unspoken hits Netflix, ready to turn your phone into a paranormal investigation device. With Supermassive's pedigree in interactive horror, expectations are already high.
