Pikachu's 67-Day Space Adventure: Pokemon Go Plush Orbits Earth 1,040 Times

Ever wondered what Pikachu would look like floating in zero gravity? Well, a Pikachu plush just returned from a 67-day stay aboard the International Space Station, and it's officially a spacefaring Pokémon.

The plush was part of a Pokemon Go promotion and spent its time orbiting Earth roughly 1,040 times. That's a lot of laps around the planet for a little yellow mascot.

While we don't have all the details about what Pikachu did up there, it's safe to say it had a better view than most of us will ever get. The ISS orbits Earth at about 17,500 mph, so Pikachu was moving fast.

This isn't the first time a toy has gone to space, but it's certainly one of the cutest. The plush returned home after its two-month mission, no doubt with some incredible stories to tell (if it could talk).

For Pokemon Go players, this is a fun reminder of how the game continues to push boundaries and find new ways to engage fans. From community days to special events, Niantic keeps finding creative ways to keep the game in the spotlight.
