Resident Evil Movie's Bryan Gets Modded Into RE2

Ever wonder what happens when a movie character gets tossed into a classic survival horror game? Thanks to one creative fan, you can now play as Bryan from Zach Cregger's Resident Evil movie in Resident Evil 2.

Just over a week after the film hit theaters on September 18, 2026, Nexus Mods user D0ct0rSauce released a Bryan skin mod. It lets you guide the unfortunate courier through Raccoon City in RE2. The mod uses 3D artwork by X/Twitter user @mindnumb_opus, giving Bryan a PlayStation 1-style look with simple polygons. He replaces Leon's retro skin, so you can see the character in all his low-poly glory.

The modding community has a long history with Capcom's survival horror franchise, so a movie-based mod was only a matter of time. D0ct0rSauce shared gameplay footage on X, showing Bryan in action. The character, played by Austin Abrams in the film, is known for his shrieks and screams during the movie's hour-and-a-half runtime. Now you can hear those same sounds as you fight through zombies.

Meanwhile, the Resident Evil movie is killing it at the box office. It premiered on September 18, 2026, and pulled in $108 million globally in its first weekend. That's the biggest opening weekend in the franchise's history. Reviews also made it the highest-rated video game adaptation of all time. In its second weekend, it added another $50 million, bringing its total to over $196.5 million. That's way more than its reported $75 million budget. IGN gave it an 8/10, praising director Zach Cregger's focus on putting the hero through a terrible night.
