The Last of Us Day 2026: Ghost of Yotei Armor, Avatars, But No TLOU 3

Were you hoping The Last of Us Day 2026 would finally give us a crumb about The Last of Us Part 3? Yeah, us too. Instead, Naughty Dog rolled out a bunch of smaller surprises—and honestly, some of them are pretty cool.

The headliner is a Clicker-inspired armor set coming to Ghost of Yotei, Sucker Punch's upcoming sequel. Starting October 1, you can jump into the Most Wanted mode wearing it, and once unlocked, it'll be available in the base game and the new Echoes of Sekigahara DLC. It's a fun crossover that no one saw coming.

But that's not all. Naughty Dog also announced a partnership with collectible company Youtooz for a Bloody Clicker figure. PlayStation users are getting four new themed avatars, plus even more on PC via Steam. There's also a new Welcome Hub background wallpaper for PS5, which was previously revealed.

If you're looking to save some cash, a new sale hits Steam and the Epic Games Store on October 1 at 10 AM PDT / 1 PM EDT. The Last of Us Part 1 will be 50% off, and The Last of Us Part 2 will be 33% off. And for those who miss the series' Cordyceps-infested world, there's a new hour-long subway ambience video to chill (or stress) out to.

What about The Last of Us Part 3? Nope, not a peep. It's been over six years since The Last of Us Part 2 launched, and fans are getting restless. The cancellation of The Last of Us Online in December 2023 was a major blow, and since then, Naughty Dog has said it's focusing on single-player games. Right now, the studio is deep into its next new IP, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, which was shown in 2024 but remains mostly under wraps.

To round out the day, there's a No Return charity stream for AbleGamers, and Naughty Dog launched dedicated The Last of Us social media pages on Instagram, Facebook, and X/Twitter. Still, many fans spent the days leading up to the holiday hoping for any hint about the future of the series. Some even thought a tease from Neil Druckmann suggested a third game might happen eventually, but for now, it's all speculation.
