Worried the RTX 5090 might be disappearing from shelves? You can relax. NVIDIA has officially confirmed the flagship GPU is here to stay.
At the "RTX Spark Launch Party: Taipei" event, NVIDIA's Senior VP of Personal Computing, Jeff Fisher, addressed the rumors head-on during a post-event interview. He made it clear: the GeForce RTX 5090 is not discontinued and will continue to ship.
Fisher also took a moment to reflect on GeForce's importance to the company. "Without GeForce, NVIDIA wouldn't have the position it has today," he said. "And without CUDA, which leverages GeForce's massive parallel processing capabilities, there wouldn't be the AI market we see now." It's a nice reminder that gaming hardware is deeply tied to NVIDIA's broader success.
When it comes to availability, Fisher acknowledged that supply chain capacity is "a bit constrained," but emphasized that NVIDIA is working hard to get products to market. He also noted that while there are other variants of the RTX 5090's chip, the RTX 5090 itself is absolutely not discontinued. "We will continue shipping it—this is very important," he added.
So if you've been holding off on buying an RTX 5090 because you thought it might be phased out, you can put those fears to rest. NVIDIA is committed to keeping the card in production, even if supply might be tight for a while.
