Ever wondered what would happen if humanity's best friends took over space exploration? Well, wonder no more because Gravhounds is here to answer that question in the most action-packed way possible.
During Gamescom Opening Night Live, indie developer Octopus Panic dropped the reveal trailer for their new game, Gravhounds. The trailer gives us a glimpse of a future where interstellar colonization is led by man's best friend. But these aren't your average good boys—they've been 'bred' for this life, and their humanoid appearance hints at some serious genetic engineering.
Interestingly, there's no sign of humans anywhere on this hostile alien world. The Gravhounds are on their own, but they seem to handle it pretty well. The game supports 1-4 players as you build up resources for a new colony while dreaming of one day returning home.
Upgrades look like they'll be crucial for survival, especially when you're overwhelmed by alien forces that really don't want you around. It's a classic fight for survival, but with a unique twist that sets it apart from other action-builders.
According to the Steam page, Gravhounds will enter early access for at least six months. The initial release will 'include the core Gravhound experience,' but the developers plan to expand its breadth, depth, and replayability on the road to 1.0. Both solo and co-op campaigns will be playable from the start.
